Arizona State football is adding their fifth pledge of the 2025 recruiting class today. Three-star defensive back, and Texas native, Xavier Skowron announced that he will play for Arizona State in college.

Xavier Skowron commits to Arizona State football

Skowron ranks as the No. 992 overall player in the 2025 class according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings. 247 Sports also ranks him as the No. 78 safety and No. 144 player in the state of Texas. However, recruiting analyst Brandon Howard points out that Skowron could be considered a sleeper in the class. The future Sun Devil was forced to play at the junior varsity level his sophomore season due to transfer rules. This caused him to fly under the radar, but he still accumulated nine scholarship offers.

The 5’10, 180lb safety chose Arizona State over schools including Arkansas, Houston, and Tulsa.

Skowron is a speedster, as he also runs for his school’s track team in Texas City. As a junior, he ran for Texas City’s 5A regional-qualifying 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays. The safety also got limited 100-meter reps, including an 11.59.

Arizona State football’s 2025 recruiting class is now up to five commits with this latest addition. Currently, the class ranks No. 42 nationally and No. 6 in the Big 12 according to 247 Sports. However, the website has not yet updated the rankings to include Skowron, so ASU will likely rise a few spots.

Skowron is the second defensive-back commit in the class, joining cornerback Joseph Smith. Both Smith and Skowron are Texas natives, as Arizona State looks to continue the #Texas2Tempe pipeline.
