The Kansas Jayhawks were looking to add elite corners to their 2024 class and they sure did find one in Austin Alexander.

Alexander is a 2024 Kansas Jayhawks signee from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. According to 247Sports he is a four-star and measures in at around 6-foot-1 165-pounds.

He recently caught up with Blue Wings Rising to detail his decision to join the Jayhawks.

“Kansas was the right choice for me because they were a program on a rise and in the right direction,” Alexander stated to Blue Wings Rising. “I really wanted to be on a team that was turning things around because then you get to become apart of something bigger.”

He talked a bit about what people can expect from him.

“People can expect a young corner, coming in ready to learn right trying to make an impact I can anyway possible.”

“I have actually been recruiting my friend from Morgan Park. His name is Jovan Clark 25’ and I’ve been trying to get him to Kansas since I committed.”

Jovan Clark is a three-star and holds many offers including Kansas, Georgia, Syracuse, and more.

“Coach Peterson made my decision probably the easiest possible. My parents really liked them all. I think that the reason he made my decision so easy is because of how genuine he was compared to the other schools and their coaches. He wasn’t trying to sell me a fantasy.”

He wants to learn from two specific people in his time at Kansas.

“Moving forward my expectations for Kansas I really wanna learn from the two great cornerbacks that they are, Mello Dotson, Cobee Bryant build off their success in the following years.”
