The Chicago Bears made another hire for their coaching staff on Friday. According to NFL Insider, Tom Pelissero, the Bears are hiring former Seattle Seahawks assistant quarterbacks coach, Kerry Joseph.

Joseph will take on the role of quarterbacks coach for the Chicago Bears and he's following along the footsteps of new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron.

Who Is Kerry Joseph?

Kerry Joseph worked as the assistant quarterbacks coach in Seattle, where he also played his four NFL seasons. From 1998-2001, Kerry was a defensive back for the Seahawks.

Joseph recorded three interceptions in his short NFL career but transitioned to the Canadian Football League where he played quarterback.

From 2003 to 2014, Kerry Joseph played quarterback for four different teams: the Ottawa Renegades, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts, and Edmonton Eskimos.

He threw for over 28,000 yards, 148 touchdowns, 126 interceptions, and sported a completion percentage of 58.4%. Joseph added over 4,500 rushing yards and 56 touchdowns as well.

Chicago is hiring Joseph as their quarterbacks coach and he'll work with the already in place Justin Fields to sharpen his skills. Depending on what the Bears do in the 2024 draft at the quarterback position, Joseph could be in line to teach a rookie like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
