College basketball expert predicts Kentucky to win the National Championship

Kentucky got their draw in the NCAA Tournament and Big Blue Nation has mixed emotions about the bracket.

You would have liked to see Kentucky avoid Houston in the NCAA Tournament, but that is the one seed the Wildcats drew. If both teams were to make it that far, this would be an Elite Eight matchup, and you can't really ever expect an easy matchup in this part of the tournament. The issue is Houston is a bad matchup for Kentucky based on how they defend.

Some thought that after the loss to Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament, people would be worried about the Wildcats heading into the NCAA Tournament, but this has not been the case. College basketball experts all over the nation still believe Kentucky can make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, including Dick Vitale. The Hall of Fame sportscaster predicts the Wildcats will win the NCAA Tournament, taking down UConn in the National Championship game. Vitale believes the Final Four will include Baylor and Tennessee on top of Kentucky and UConn.

This Kentucky team can do something special, but they still will have to find a way to do some things better defensively to beat teams deeper in the NCAA Tournament.

It's exciting to see that the national media isn't too concerned with what happened in Nashville, but the Wildcats still need to figure out a few things to make a deep run in the tournament.

With the big dance officially here, coach Calipari might have some tricks up his sleeve defensively.
