Jalin Hyatt reacts after New York Giants select LSU WR Malik Nabers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday night, the New York Giants used the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.

A year ago, the Giants selected Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt in the third round, a move that viewed as a steal (Hyatt was viewed by some analysts as a first round talent).

Shortly after the Giants selected Nabers on Thursday night, Hyatt took to Twitter/X.com to react to the pick.

"We putting it up this year no cap," tweeted Hyatt after the pick was announced.

Nabers joins a wide receiver room in New York that includes Hyatt, Darius Slayton, and Wan'Dale Robinson.

The addition of Nabers should help free up Hyatt in the passing game. Nabers was viewed by some analysts as the top wide receiver in this year's draft. He's the type of player that will command plenty of attention from opposing defenses on Sundays.

Hyatt caught 23 passes for 373 yards as a rookie last season. With Nabers in the mix, it should help the Giants create some favorable matchups for Hyatt, who showed last season with a big game against the New England Patriots (six receptions for 109 yards) that he can be an explosive NFL player.
