Kid Rock Tour Gets Unexpected Twist with Tucker Carlson Opening Act
USA TODAY Sports

Combine Kid Rock and Tucker Carlson, and you have Rebel America at its finest.

Recently, the opening act for Kid Rock was none other than former "unemployed," by his own admission, talk show host Tucker Carlson.

What Carlson had to say in Gonzales, Louisiana, didn't just draw enthusiastic cheers from the crowd; it also went viral on social media.

Kid Rock is currently on the Rock the Country tour, which will make two-day stops across the United States from April through July. The tour will visit Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Artists such as Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, and Uncle Kracker will join Kid Rock on stage.

As Carlson explained, he may also be joining the tour. After having dinner with Kid Rock one night a few months ago at Carlson's house, Kid Rock suggested that he open for him on his summer tour.

Carlson addressed the crowd, saying, "You may be wondering what I am doing here. I don't know either."

During his opening, Carlson discussed the state of the country from his perspective, which was intriguing coming from a "newscaster" type celebrity.

Acknowledging and publicly stating that the "country I see on the internet is (expletive) up."

In a moment of American pride, Carlson asked the crowd, "Can you put a price on living free in the last free country?"

Carlson's full narrative was shared on social media and has received more than one million views, continuing to grow.

What might have started out as just an idea, and Carlson not knowing his place, he seemed comfortable joining the rock 'n roll stage. Kid Rock fans appeared to embrace him and his take on country.

The tour's next stop is Ashland, Kentucky, on April 19-20. It will be interesting to see if Carlson appears on stage.
