Kings Coach Mike Brown Insists Heat’s Tyler Herro Traveled on Game-Winner

But Kings coach Mike Brown says Herro got away with a walk — and the violation should have been called. Instead, Sacramento lost.

“We’ve got a lot of respect for the program, the Miami Heat, (coach Erik Spoelstra) and everything they’ve done, and Tyler Herro’s a great player, but he traveled,” Brown said, via Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee. “He traveled on the last play and I would not be doing my job if I didn’t come up here and protect my guys.

“My guys fought their behind off for close to 48 minutes, and to (see Herro) pump fake and then sidestep, or hop and then one-two and a shot, and not make that call, to me it’s just unbelievable.”

Herro pump-faked to free himself for the clinching 3-pointer, then buried it. 

“I got all the space I needed to knock it down,” Herro said. “Great win for us.”

Spoelstra was equally pleased. 

“That was a big-time shot,” he said. “The only criticism I had was he left a couple seconds on the clock.”

The Kings kept it close despite the absence of point guard De’Aaron Fox, who went through a pregame workout. Fox is out with a knee issue, but expected to return fairly soon.
