Cam Corhen arrived in Pittsburgh Friday morning, and by the time he leaves Sunday, he could be the newest Pitt Panther.

Corhen — a 6-foot-10, 225-pound junior forward from Florida State — is taking an official visit to Pitt this weekend, and according to On3, Pitt is the team to beat. On3 put in an official prediction for Pitt to land Corhen.

He was a four-star recruit out of high school, and he’s once again a consensus four-star recruit as a portal entrant. On3 rates him as the 64th-ranked recruit in the portal (16th-ranked power forward) while 247Sports rates him as the 118th-ranked recruit and Rivals rates him as the 177th-ranked recruit.

Corhen was limited a bit in 2023, but his best showing off the season came in a loss to Pitt. He poured in 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting (9-of-10 from the free throw line) and added eight boards.

He averaged 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game (21 minutes per game) on 67% shooting over the course of 22 games — making seven starts.

In his freshman season at Florida State, he averaged 8.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Corhen was originally a highly-touted recruit out of Sunrise Christian in Allen, Tx. in the class of 2022. Before selecting Florida State, he held offers from Arizona State, Creighton, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Kansas, LSU, Minnesota, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, USC and Virginia Tech.

Pitt needs some size in the front court, with Blake Hinson entering the NBA Draft and Will Jeffress and Fede Federiko entering the transfer portal. Corhen wouldn’t fill a need for more outside shooting, but he is a big, athletic power forward who likely still hasn’t hit his full potential.

Pitt returns Papa Kante, Jorge and Guillermo Diaz Graham, Zack Austin and Marlon Barnes Jr. at forward. There may not be a traditional center amongst that group, but Corhen would be a welcomed addition with positional versatility.

Corhen is one of three official visitors this weekend, joined by Houston transfer Damian Dunn and 2025 four-star recruit Derek Dixon.
