Ohio State could put salt in the wound of Alabama on the recruiting trail this weekend
Lori Schmidt / Columbus Dispatch-USA TODAY NETWORK

The next couple of days are going to be pretty big for Ohio State football on the recruiting trail.

Dozens of recruits from the 2025 and 2026 classes will be in Columbus for the Buckeyes’ “Student Appreciation Day” practice, which is always a big deal.

Among the visitors will be five-star wideout Jaime Ffrench, who was a one-time Alabama pledge. According to 247 Sports, Ffrench is a heavy Ohio State lean. Just days ago, 2025 wideout Jayvan Boggs decommited from the Buckeyes. Perhaps this weekend brings a “Boom” in place of Boggs.

Much of the attention will be on Ffrench, who could commit and it would not be a surprise. Other visitors include the No. 1 offensive tackle in 2025 David Sanders Jr., 2025 cornerback Dorian Brew, 2025 safety Jonah Williams, 2025 running back Bo Jackson, and many others.

Commits that will be on campus are quarterback Tavien St. Clair, offensive tackle Carter Lowe, and linebacker Eli Lee.

Ffrench is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound playmaker out of Jacksonville, Florida. Tennessee, Miami, and Florida State are other schools that are recruiting him hard. Ffrench would be the start to what should be another elite hail for Ohio State at wide receiver in 2025. Jeremiah Smith was the No. 1 wideout in the previous class and he is already on campus impressing in Columbus.

There is no sure word if Ffrench commits this week but you can bet the staff will be pressing for him to. At the very least, Ohio State should have a firework or two this weekend.
