Timmy Chang's coaching staff looks to be making a veteran addition at defensive coordinator.
Per a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz, Hawaii will hire Colorado director of quality control Dennis Thurman. Thurman has been a member of Deion Sanders' staff for a number of years, including at Jackson State. Thurman also spent more than a decade as an assistant in the NFL.

In 2023, Colorado allowed 34.8 yards per game plus 453.3 yards per game. Hawaii allowed 32.2 points per game and 385.3 yards per game.
Safeties coach Jacob Yoro and defensive line coach Eti Ena split DC duties at Hawaii in 2023. Ena was not retained by Chang, the school announced last week. It's unclear at this time what Yoro's exact role will be moving forward.
Hawaii open the 2024 season when they host Oregon as part of the Week Zero schedule.
