Purdy played his freshman season at Florida State in 2020 and then redshirted in 2021. He then played two seasons at Nebraska, so he should have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
So far, Purdy has amassed 85 completions on 162 attempts 846 yards, six touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Purdy also showcased his running ability on a few occasions, with 253 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns.
Brendon Lewis was Nevada's starting quarterback for final weeks of 2023. He came to Reno after three seasons at Colorado. He rushed for 495 yards and four touchdowns, adding two touchdowns and six interceptions through the air. Purdy would likely be Nevada's new starter, but Lewis could push him for snaps as well.
An Arizona native, Purdy was a four-star prospect coming out of high school. Purdy is also the younger brother of current San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Brock Purdy.
