North Carolina State vs. Virginia: The Cavaliers pulled out a dramatic series win over the Wolfpack. In the first game, Virginia pulled out a 2-0 win. UVA's Kelsey Hackett had RBI singles in the 2nd and 6th innings for the Hoos two runs. Pitcher Eden Bigham pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just three hits while striking out eight. In Game 2, UVA scored three runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, but they fell one run short as NC State got the 10-9 victory. Taylor Ensley was 2-4 with a solo home run and three RBI for NC State. Amanda Hasler was 2-3 with a walk and a two-run home run. In the final game of the series, Abby Weaver's one-out bases-loaded sac fly in the bottom of the ninth with the difference maker in a UVA 3-2 win. Weaver also had a fly out to left field in the fifth inning that tied the game at two. Jade Hylton hit a solo home run in the fifth inning as well. Bigham pitched another complete game, giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven. For NC State, Rylee Wyman also pitched a complete game giving up three runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
