Dear everyone involved in trying to mitigate the consequences of Sergio Garcia making racially charged comments: stop. You’re only making it worse. Today’s case in point? Euro Tour chief George O’Grady. In an appearance on Sky Sports, O’Grady was defending the tour’s decision to not punish Garcia when he made the quite unfortunate remark that many of Garcia’s friends were “coloured”. Great job, George. Now, of course, O’Grady has issued his own apology. From The Telegraph: With social media abuzz about the comment, O’Grady was obliged to emulate García and say sorry. “I deeply regret using an inappropriate word in a live interview for Sky Sports, for which I unreservedly apologise,” he said. Well I for one am relieved that George O’Grady feels no reservation about his apology. Maybe this will serve as a reminder that when someone opens their mouth and gets themselves in trouble, it’s best to let them deal with the consequences themselves, lest you drag yourself into the fray. Probably won’t happen, but a man can dream.

Come On Sergio

It's no secret Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia aren't the best of friends. In fact, it wouldn't be out of line to say they can't stand each other.
