Someone wise once said, “It’s not where you start, but where you finish.” Telling words for all athletes and other professionals who have to endure heartache and failure to be able to achieve success. The road for professional athletes to stardom aren’t always the easiest paths to walk. A lot of athletes are given great athletic abilities from God, but they have to work to hone these skills. In no other sport do these words ring more true, than in golf. The pursuit of trying to hit a ball that stands still, in perfect form and at a perfect distance is a daunting task. The golf swing just may be the most practiced athletic movement of all time.

One of the new PGA Tour stars, Bubba Watson, was given the gift of being able to hit the long ball. With that gift he’s been able to make a small mark on the PGA Tour with a couple wins in his 6-year career on the PGA. With Golf, your athletic abilities can only take you so far. Having a strong mental game is what separates the stars from the everyday players. Through a little bit of hardship, Watson was able to find the focus on excellence that he needed to help win his first major at the Master this year.

For more info on Watson’s journey to his first major title, read Jay Coffin’s article on GolfChannel.com here.
