Unable to dial into the Golf Channel Media Conference Call yesterday, I was sent the transcript which started off with a very interesting question, namely, “what has been the most significant thing to kickstart the golf season and why?” Three experts that appear on Morning Drive were at hand to answer questions. Unfortunately for golf…and for Vijay Singh, the World Golf Hall of Famer was on the tip of the tongues of all three respondents;  Gary Williams, John Cook and Brandel Chamblee, but it was Williams who mentioned that, with Singh’s admission, that this is now a PGA Tour issue which means this could lead to suspension…not very good for Vijay who turns fifty this year. As for recent victories by Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, yes they are significant but, with the seaso...

Phil Mickelson fell on his rear end at Pebble Beach (Video)

Phil Mickelson slipped and fell on his rear end on the 18th hole while looking for his ball near the beach during Saturday's third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.  Mickelson, the defending tournament champion, was not injured, although he probably will feel the embarrassment of this video going viral.  Mickelson ended up with a triple...

K-State fighting mental 'roadblock' versus KU

MANHATTAN, Kan. The closest thing Allen Fox can come up with is Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods in his prime, Tiger Woods at the untouchable, pre-Escalade apex. We're breaking down the curious case of Kansas vs. Kansas State, talking basketball, and Fox, a tennis man, cites a golf study. Between 1999 and 2006, Fox recalled, this piece showed that whenever Woods was part of a PGA event...

Lefty barely into Sunday at Pebble after triple at 18

Hardly focused on the top of the leaderboard, considering that it doesn't include his name, Phil Mickelson was asked about Brandt Snedeker, who seems to be playing beautifully at this week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Conceding that he hadn't studied the scores in the two minutes since his round had finished, Mickelson shrugged and offered a diplomatic response...

Phil Mickelson Attempts to make Happy Gilmore-Type Shot

Call it cinematic deja vu? Maybe since its the Pro-Am Phil Mickelson decided he would do something a little different, like try to channel his best Happy Gilmore Saturday during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He might have been inspired by Bill Murray who was sporting a pretty interesting get up this week. What funnier moment could there be that mainstream America would know other...

Overnights Down Big For Pebble Beach Pro-Am, But Still Solid

NBA Grandfathers Acting Like Giant Hardos & More Weekend Screencapping Fun!

Was that a helluva sports weekend or what? Worthless NBA games, Pebble Beach without Tiger Woods, more worthless college basketball games and some NHL. The best news of the weekend was that Katy Perry unleashed her drones at the Grammys. Otherwise it was a waste of a weekend. I spent like 10 minutes Saturday night trying to watch some of the Pistons-Bucks game just so see how hard...
