Sweden's Robert Karlsson shot a six-under-par 64 to share the clubhouse lead on the second day of the BMW Masters on Thursday in his bid to secure a 2013 PGA Tour card.
Karlsson joined Shane Lowry atop the leaderboard midway through the second round at Shanghai with the Irishman also shooting a round of 64 less than two weeks after winning the Portugal Masters.
Karlsson, who has not won a tournament since the 2010 season-ending Dubai World Championship, has slipped from a high of sixth on the World Rankings in January 2009 to his current ranking of 90th.
Of more concern is his present position of 158th on the PGA Tour money list, with earnings this year of only $362,085 - his poorest season since joining the PGA Tour fulltime in 2009.
