Davis Love III has been added as an assistant to U.S. Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples for the team competition at Muirfield Village Golf Club in October. The announcement was made on Wednesday on the eve of the Memorial Tournament, also at Muirfield Village, where Love and Couples are playing this week. Jay Haas is also assisting Couples with the American team. Love holds a 16-5-8 record in Presidents Cup play, including a 5-1-2 mark when teamed with Couples. The Presidents Cup will be played from Oct. 3-6. The International team is led by Nick Price, with assistants Shigeki Maruyama, Mark McNulty and Tony Johnstone.
