The man pictured to the left is name David Eger. Currently, Eger is Champions tour golfer. Before joining the Champions tour, Eger was a tournament director with both the PGA Tour and the USGA. So in other words, Eger is deeply versed in the ins and outs of tournament etiquette and rules. So when Tiger Woods took a curious drop on the 15th hole, Eger’s tournament director instincts quickly kicked in and quickly used his DVR to rewind the coverage to take a closer look. That closer look led to Eger phoning in the possible rules violation to Masters officials which ultimately led to Woods being assessed a two-stroke penalty.Eger explained why he did what he did to Golf.com’s Michael Bamberger. In a recent telephone interview, Eger said he was causally watching the Friday round of the Masters in his Florida home. As Woods came off the 16th green, where he got up and down for par, Eger noticed Woods had dropped a shot since he had last seen his score. Eger was curious to see how that had h...

The man who called in to Augusta National and reported the incorrect drop Tiger Woods took during the Masters has come forward. And who he is may surprise you.

Former official TV viewer on Tiger drop

The television viewer who reported the illegal drop Tiger Woods took during the Masters was more than just a golf fan. Sports Illustrated reports it was David Eger, a rules expert who has worked for the USGA and the PGA Tour. Eger says he was watching the Masters when he replayed the 15th hole to see how Woods made bogey. Woods hit the pin with his third shot, which bounced back...

EA Sports Cancels Tiger Woods PGA Tour Game for 2015, Cites ‘Bad Timing’

Tiger Woods will not see the virtual green in the PGA Tour in 2015. EA Sports has announced that the 2015 edition of the annual “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” game franchise has been canceled. The company had released a new version of the game every year since its creation in 1998. Both the Playstation and XBox systems are set to release the newest versions of their gaming consoles in...

The Guy Who Called on Tiger Woods at The Masters

David Eger ((ht: golf.com)) Well, isn't this a bit of a surprise. Contrary to pubic assumptions, it wasn't just some guy watching TV on home who called in the potential rules violation by Tiger Woods during this years Masters golf tourney. Rather the "Mysterious" phone call came from former Tournament Director (other tourneys) and current Senior Tour golfer...

Want to Know Who Told on Tiger Woods at the Masters?

When the news broke during the Masters that it was a person watching at home that outed Tiger Woods's mistake and cost him a couple of shots the world was a little shocked. Could it actually be that simple to mess with/have an effect on the outcome of one of the most prestigious events in golf? The answer for now still seems to be yes, but it appears that in this case maybe...

Man who Called in Tiger’s Illegal Drop at Masters Reveals Himself

Perhaps even bigger than an Australian wining the Masters for the first time this year was the rule broken by Golf’s superstar. We all saw what happened as Tiger attempted an approach shot from the fairway on the 15th hole. A beautifully hit shot was hit a little too perfectly as Tiger’s ball careened with the tee and rolled into the water. What happened next though,...

Players expecting a bumpy ride at Quail Hollow

Quail Hollow has been a symbol of perfection for 10 years since it returned to the PGA Tour lineup, a beautifully manicured golf course where the six major champions who have won ranged from Tiger Woods to Rory McIlroy. It is less than perfect this year. Some have even compared the greens to a rundown municipal course. One thing that hasn't changed at the Wells Fargo Championship...

Richard Cloutier: I Remember the Playoffs Once

Chicago and some other team are playing right now. I'd watch, but meh, I couldn't be bothered. It's not that playoff hockey is bad. Actually, in theory, this should be the most exciting time of the year for hockey fans. Problem is, I'm not a hockey fan. I'm an Oilers fan. The only thing the Oilers are playing right now is the back nine at Tiger Woods house...

Here’s a golf-themed parody of ‘Ice Ice Baby’ because why not? (video)

Sure, the Golf Boys may boast a veritable who’s who of PGA Tour professionals: Bubba Watson, Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan, but have those fellas ever attempted to write a parody song? Ask “Weird Al” Yankovic, that crap ain’t easy. So, the Golf Boys can keep going on with their “Oh Oh Oh” and whatnot, but they now have some stiff competition in the golf-themed...
