PLAYERS: Tiger Woods

Via It's Always Sunny in Detroit:

Forget the talk of whether Tiger is “back.”  Nobody will ever be back to the days of when Tiger Woods was big pimpin’ and winning majors left and right like it was his job. Now that the women seem to be gone, Tiger must resort to only being No. 1 on the money list and in the FedEx Cup standings. The major wins may or may not come back.

But, shots like this one Thursday during the first round of the British Open will help them come back.  On the par-4 12th hole, Woods found himself with a disastrous lie along the ridge in a green-side bunker.  Tiger being Tiger (only without all the ladies) pulled out a wedge, got down on a knee and hit a one-legged chip that only Tiger Woods (and maybe Shooter McGavin) could hit.

Despite being in Scotland, Woods was able to put enough English on it so it wouldn’t run past the hole.

5 Comments:
  • Ultimately, white women screw everything up. High maintenance, mouthy, opinionated and self righteous. Tiger needs to do what his daddy did and find himself a respectful woman that doesn't speak english and keeps her mouth shut.
  • It wasn't the white woman that screwed Tiger up it was Tiger that screwed Tiger up, he couldn't keep it i his pants
  • Anyone...and I mean...anyone other than Woods...please win this Open.
Time to put the Scottish golf curse upon Woods...'May his (Woods') ball become a gorse getting, heather seeking, fescue finding, bunker plugging missile from which finding the bottom of the hole in less than bogey will be an exercise in futility.'
  • So tell me, who pissed in your cereal this morning? You may not like him, but he is still the best player out there, at this time.
  • IMO, the references to the "women" didn't need to be made. A good shot is a good shot regardless of who makes it. The other 2 comments are nonsense.

Broadcasters rip Tiger for swearing on camera

Tiger Woods was making a run at the lead of The Open Championship during the third round and he was caught on camera cursing.  It was only a “God damnit,” so not as severe as it could have been, but the announcers didn’t hold back from judging him.  Clearly they thought that he should know better not to swear because there are always microphones on him, but in Tiger’s defense...

Tiger misses plenty of opportunities

Tiger Woods took the lead at the 142nd Open championship, but instead of doing what he used to and stepping on throats, he stepped on his own shoelaces.

Players divided on major approach

To play or not to play, that is the question. Before a major championship, that is. Tiger Woods, of course, is dead set against it, even if on those occasions when he has played before a major, he has won. (In 2007, he captured the Bridgestone and PGA back to back.) Phil Mickelson, on the other hand, played poorly at this year's Masters and will tell you it's because he...

Tiger's marriage with Nike to live on

Picturing Tiger Woods adorned with anything but Nike swooshes is difficult to do. And a new endorsement deal between the two ensures that such a vision will remain just that - a figment of the imagination. Since turning professional in 1996, Woods has been a Nike endorser, and his latest deal will keep him one for many more years. Though terms of the contract were not disclosed...

It looks like Tiger Woods may get a happy ending after all, depending on which tabloid has the facts right. While marriage might not be in the books for Woods after girlfriend Lindsey Vonn didn’t seem too keen on the idea, the family turmoil that came after Woods was divorced from Elin Nordegren and started dating Vonn may have dissipated for good. The New York Post reports that...

Why Wrigley Field still matters at 100

Most stadiums are just places to put butts. Like a living organism, it takes time for these inanimate objects to grow into something more meaningful. The majority of Major League ballparks have not yet had this opportunity — 24 of the 30 have been built in my lifetime, and I’m still young enough to have lived my whole life within the frame of MTV’s existence. Like a good child...
