Henrik Stenson won The Deutsche Bank Championship by staying consistent like he has the entire second half of the season. Stenson fired a final round of 5-under 66. His 22-under total for the week ties the scoring record of the Deutsche Bank Championship. TPC Boston is known as the fast track of the FedEx Cup playoffs. Normally, I have a problem with the easy courses on the Tour, but I do think this is a good change of pace for the playoffs. Sergio Garcia started off the final round with a two shot lead over Stenson, but really struggled during the final round by shooting a 2-over 73. Garcia had been playing extremely well all week and looked like a lock to shoot up the FedEx Cup leader board, but he just didn’t look comfortable the entire final round. Jordan Spieth has continued his stellar play as well, carding a 9-under par 62 in the final round to skyrocket up the leader board and end the tournament with a T4 finish. The field is now cut to the top 70 in the FedEx Cup point standings. Next week the PGA Tour stops in Chicago for the BMW Championship, the third leg of the playoffs before the culmination of The TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. It’s become quite apparent throughout the playoffs that a win shoots you up in the point standings, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see yet another different face atop the points after next week. There seems to be so many points awarded to the winners of playoff events that the entire season worth of points is almost an afterthought. If there would be one thing I would change about the FedEx Cup playoffs, it would be to not make each event worth five times the amount of points as a regular season event. The playoffs are shaping up to have some serious drama towards the end.   Henrik Stenson wins the Deutsche Bank Championship
