Lydia Ko will start her title defense at the CN Canadian Women's Open next to Solheim Cup hero Charley Hull. Ko, 16, and Hull, 17, are two of the best young talents in the game.
Ko remains an amateur as Hull is in the middle of her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour. She's already logged four runner-up finishes, and heads to LPGA Q-School in the fall. Ko is looking for a fourth professional victory.
"She obviously proved herself out there last week, and she's obviously a really great player," Ko said of the pairing. "It kind of makes me feel better seeing that I'm not the youngest one."
Ko and Hull will be joined by recent Alabama graduate Jennifer Kirby, a native Canadian. They tee off No. 1 at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday.
The next notable group goes off the first tee at 8:15 a.m., and includes Paula Creamer, I.K. Kim and Caroline Hedwall, who put together a perfect 5-0 Solheim Cup record last week.
Stacy Lewis is grouped with Lorie Kane and Karrie Webb in the next group.
