A lot of things happened last weekend. Fun things. Interesting things. Maybe some weird things. Let’s take a look back, shall we? Kevin Streelman: Let’s start at the top. Yes, Steelman won in Tampa and he did so in impressive fashion. He finished his final 37 holes without making a bogey and wrapped up his first PGA Tour victory. That is all well and good, but it gets better for Kevin. Because of his victory, Streelman jumped into the top 100 in the world and will play at Augusta next month. Not a bad Sunday for someone, who just a few years ago, was grinding it out on mini-tours. Jordan Speith: If you don’t know about Jordan Speith, you will be seeing a lot more of him in the coming months and PGA Tour seasons moving forward. The kid is going to be a star. He finished this weekend in a tie for seventh. Speith also assured himself a temporary membership on Tour for the rest of the year. Not bad for a kid that just finished high school, a story I am sure we can all relate to. Boo Weekley and Justin Leonard: First, Boo. This guy has been off bass fishing or deer hunting for the past few seasons. But, Sunday he showed up on a golf course for the first time in recent memory. A sizzling 63 left him near the top of the leaderboard for most of the afternoon. Justin Leonard has also been a member of the PGA Tour witness protection program over the past few years. But there he was on Sunday, challenging for a tournament victory. What does it all mean for these guys? Hell if I know. But I do know that these are two likeable guys that I enjoy watching down the stretch. Good to see them contend this past weekend. World Number 1: And now, something for the ladies. Stacy Lewis continued to prove that she may be the most dominant golfer in the world right now. She took home another W at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup. In doing so, she became the number one ranked woman in the world. She is poised to stay there for a while too. What’s even better? She has one of the best stories in professional sports. Since I am counting on you to read a lot here, I won’t ask you to read a ton more and give you the cliff notes. Basically, Lewis was in a back brace as a child. Being the best golfer in the world was probably far off in her mind. But now here she is. Number one in the world and should have a few more victories under her belt this season. And speaking of number one, some guy named Tiger could become number one later this week. That’s right folks, with a win at Bay Hill, Tiger Woods would become number one in the world again. What a long strange journey it’s been. But being number one is just part of Tiger getting his life back together. He is officially dating skier Lindsey Vonn now. Which brings me to my final highlight of the weekend. Weird Lindsey and Tiger: Hey you guys, Tiger and Lindsey are totes offish on Facebook now. OMG. That’s fine, I guess. This is 2013 and we all know you can’t possibly be dating someone with out making it official on Facebook. But check out those pictures. I think we could have all done without the shopping mall glamour shots.  It will be interesting to see how Vonn will influence Woods’ game. She is after all, a world-class athlete. And so is Tiger. And by all accounts, they are very competitive. Will it translate to Ws on the course? We will see.
