By now I’m sure you have seen the clip of that crazy dude videobombing Webb Simpson’s trophy celebration at the U.S. Open on Sunday. His bird call was by far one of the most bizarre videobombs we have ever seen, and it turns out the man who executed it is in fact a strange, strange character. His name is Andrew Dudley, but he goes by “Jungle Bird.” His goal? To raise awareness about deforestation and stop people from cutting down trees.

“San Francisco police arrested me and took me to the station,” Dudley told Jeanne Moos of CNN according to Geoff Shackelford of Golf Digest. “But when I got there the guys were all really cool. They were all making bird noises because they had already been watching it on YouTube and the internet. No charges were pressed by the U.S. Open so it was all cool.”

Dudley explained that the U.S. Open videobomb was not planned but instead was spontaneous like everything else he does to raise awareness about deforestation. To his credit, “Jungle Bird” also took the CNN interview as an opportunity to apologize to Simpson if he took away from any of the “special moments” of his trophy celebration. He says he was simply trying to get a message across to stop deforestation.

In terms of accomplishing his mission, it would be hard to argue that Dudley’s videobomb was not a success. We’ve all seen the clip probably more than once over the past few days and here we are still talking about it.
