The Irish golfer posted a video on his Instagram of him leathering a sliotar at a pole but underestimated just how cold it was.

A lot of people poked fun at Lowry, including Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre, who plays Shinty for Oban Celtics when he’s not on tour.

MacIntyre appeared to challenge the Offaly man to a crossover game when the two meet on tour in Abu Dhabi next month.

“Aye decent take them to Abu Dhabi,” MacIntyre wrote under Lowry’s Instagram post.

There is a correlation between the two sports, which dates back to 1896. The Shinty–Hurling International Series is held every year which sees the best from both Ireland and Scotland face off.
