PLAYERS: Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods hates bogeys. All golfers do (well, some weekend hackers probably would love to bogey every hole). So it's safe to say he probably loathes double bogeys. That's exactly how he finished his first round Thursday as he posted an ugly six on the par-4 ninth hole (he started on the back nine) to finish with a 1-over 71 . The heavy favorite coming into the 2013 PGA Championship has some work to do in order to back in contention as he tries to win his first major championship since 2008. While he said all the usual things after his round, we take a look at what might have been going through his mind during his stroll around Oak Hill . . . "Phil might have won the British Open, but does he have shoes named after him? LOL, love cracking myself up." (Streeter Lecka/Getty Images) "The sun bothering anybody else? No?" (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "OMG, is that a BEE?!" (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "Note to self: Sign up for yoga classes when I get back home." (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "OK, count to 10. Count to 10. I HATE 10." (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "Anybody know where there's a restroom?" (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky) "Don't worry, Tiger. I'll get this for you." "Yea, I know you will." (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "HURRY UP! Someone's trying to chase down Jack's record back here!" (Allan Henry-USA TODAY Sports) "Did I forget to put on deodorant today?" (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "No, no. I'm thrilled with that shot. Awesome. Totally awesome." (Rob Carr/Getty Images) "I swear if that ball isn't in the hole when I look back I will absolutely LOSE it." (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky) "Get in the hole. Get in the hole. Please get in the hole." (Rob Carr/Getty Images)

A father-and-son moment for Woods

Tiger Woods had a tender moment after destroying the competition at the Bridgestone Invitational. His 4-year-old son, Charlie, was in the gallery and Woods scooped him into his arms when he walked off the 18th green at Firestone. He later had a personal photo taken of the two of them and the trophy. Whether his son follows in his footsteps remains to be seen, though Woods said...

Report: Tiger Woods' mansion sinking

Tiger Woods is busy trying to earn his first major win in more than five years this weekend at the PGA Championship. But as the world's No. 1 golfer tries to tackle Oak Hill Country Club, his Florida home may be sinking into the soft Sunshine State soil. According to Gossip Extra , Woods has hired a contractor to stabilize his 10,000-square-foot waterfront mansion in Jupiter...

Tiger laments round 1 lost chances

Oak Hill was there for the taking. Tiger Woods gave away too many chances. Woods had everything he needed to start the final major championship of the year on a good note. The conditions were soft, still and ideal for scoring. He was one shot out of the lead Thursday morning in the PGA Championship when he made the turn, and there was nothing to suggest he would stray too far away...

Tiger aims to fix putting at PGA, but driver is more crucial

It's another major championship week and another week when Tiger Woods seems obsessed with the wrong club.During his practice sessions at Oak Hill before the first round of the PGA Championship, Woods had his friend Steve Stricker check on his putting angles -- his shoulders and his arms and how he was releasing the putter through impact. That might seem odd to most given that...

Tiger Woods Fakes Out Autograph Seekers (Video)

I feel bad for the people who truly wanted an autograph from Tiger but you can’t tell me this isn’t up for fake out of the year. Tiger was playing a practice round Tuesday at Oak Hill Country Club, but before it looked as if the #1 golfer in the world was going to sign a few autographs for some fans. Woods approached the stands but hit a quick U-Turn when they appeared to get...

What Tiger was thinking during first round

Tiger Woods hates bogeys. All golfers do (well, some weekend hackers probably would love to bogey every hole). So it's safe to say he probably loathes double bogeys. That's exactly how he finished his first round Thursday as he posted an ugly six on the par-4 9th hole (he started on the back nine) to finish with a 1-over 71 . Woman At PGA Championship Has Tiger Woods’ Logo Tattoo For Some Unknown Reason

I guess she really likes Tiger Woods? I’m a fan of supporting athletes, but this may be taking it a bit too far. Can’t wait to hear the back story on this one. At least she didn’t go with this… [Darren Rovell] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Tiger's problems in majors continue

Tiger Woods walked off the 18th hole and past Jason Dufner and Adam Scott, who stood on the putting green still waiting to tee off as the last group of the PGA Championship's third round. Woods is usually the one starting his day well into the afternoon on the weekend at a major. But he keeps heading the wrong direction from the leaders at Oak Hill. The world's No. 1 golfer...

Final Ratings Up For Tiger’s Bridgestone Blowout, But Trail His Previous Wins

Tiger Woods‘ easy win at the Bridgestone Invitational was the lowest rated of his eight victories at the event. Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Bridgestone Invitational earned a 3.2 final rating and 4.6 […]

Golf's best rivalry still going strong

It has been said there are two kinds of players who putt well -- those with great putters, and those with great swings. In other words: Clashing styles with a shared result, excellence. Both categories help explain the career success of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Each is long off the tee. Each is an excellent putter, albeit Mickelson has been streakier. Both categories also...

Tiger pulls away in world ranking

Coming off a seven-shot victory at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods padded his lead in the Official World Golf Ranking. Woods, who won the Bridgestone for the eighth time on Sunday, leads second-ranked Phil Mickelson by 5.63 points. Woods has been the World No. 1 since winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, a victory that put him just more than a half-point...

Lindsey Vonn finds cracks in Tiger Woods' sinking home

Tiger Woods might have finally fixed the cracks in his once-slumping golf game but it was his new girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn — along with the golfer — who found them in his Florida home. And we're talking physical breaks in the house and not in their budding relationship. While Woods is busy sinking putts to earn his first major win in more than five years this weekend at...

Tiger Woods at PGA Championship: ‘I’m still right there’

Tiger Woods shot a 1-over-par 71 Thursday at Oak Hill Country Club after he double-bogeyed the final hole. Woods, who trails clubhouse leader Jim Furyk by six shots, had just two birdies, failing to take advantage of the relatively good scoring conditions. “The round realistically could have been under par easily,” said

Your PGA Championship Television Guide

This weekend golf's fourth and final major of the year takes place at Oak Hill, the PGA Championship.  The PGA doesn't get as much hype as The Masters or US Open, nor is it as distinct with the history of the British Open, but it has routinely delivered exciting and unpredictable tournaments throughout the years. TNT and CBS share the coverage once again this year, but...
