PLAYERS: Tiger Woods
I write a lot of jokes about sports, so sometimes it’s nice to remember that I’m totally full of **** and athletes hate me.That’s the subject of a new sports reporter fail compilation put together by the folks at talkSPORTSmagazine. There’s some legendary stuff in here, including Tiger Woods being the most insufferable a-hole on the planet, Shaq emphasizing his joke with nonstop pointing and Bobby Knight using psychic powers to determine the horribleness of questions. Also, a lot of stuff you can barely hear but I assume is funny. Subtitles next time, Talk Sports! Here’s the clip. Man, who asks Shaq about sucking off his mom, seriously? When I grow up I want to be an actual sports reporter, just so I can follow Tiger around and ask him stuff like, “why is your name Tiger?” and “did you learn how to play golf at an early age?” until he learns to chill the f**k out.[h/t to Bob's Blitz]

Tiger Woods dealing with stiff neck and back because of hotel beds

Tiger Woods has battled a number of injuries over the past several years. Aside from Tiger, we rarely hear about injuries on the golf course. That could either be a result of very few golfers getting injured or people simply not paying attention to anyone but Woods. In any event, the 37-year-old is dealing with […]

Tiger Woods ‘Injured’ By a ‘Soft Hotel Bed.’ Seriously…

This is not an Onion story, yet it definitely has that feel to it. Tiger Woods who has been hampered by injuries for the past few years has injured himself again, but this time it was courtesy of a very odd circumstance. A hotel bed was apparently too ‘soft,’ and it led to Tiger’s back and neck being too stiff to play the back nine of this pro-am on Wednesday at The Barclays...

He still walked with his amateur partners, but only chipped and putted at Liberty National. He says his neck and back were stiff in the morning. He attributes it to a soft bed in his hotel and says he didn't want...

The world's greatest golfer and greatest target for a fun headlines met the media Wednesday prior to the start of The Barclays, where he is the favorite because of course he is. He was fresh off the course from the pro-am portion of the tournament,...

For Woods, still some work to do this year

The end of the major championships is not the end of the world for Tiger Woods. And there's still plenty up for grabs for Phil Mickelson, who has an outside shot at winning his first Player of the Year. Or even for Rory McIlroy, who feels as if he is coming off a six-month vacation and is trying to win for the first time this year. The Barclays starts Thursday across the Hudson...

PGA Tour: FedEx Cup playoffs explained

PGA Tour Playoffs This week the PGA Tour begins the intriguing, star-studded, confusing event that is the FedEx Cup playoffs. When the playoffs first began in 2007, I have to admit that I wasn’t exactly sure what was going on. I know that I wasn’t alone. All I knew was the winner received the single largest payout in all of sports, $10 million. Not bad. I am going to explain...

PGA Tour: FedEx Cup versus majors

FedEx Cup The Wyndham Championship today marked the end of the PGA Tour’s regular season, with the FedEx Cup playoffs about to kick off next week at the Barclays. Patrick Reed beat Jordan Spieth in a playoff to claim the Wyndham title and jump to 22nd in the FedEx Cup standings by gaining 500 points. I was excited at the beginning of the week to see if there would be some drama...

Tiger Woods Injured By a Soft Hotel Bed

We have heard of some weird sports injuries over the years (most of them were cover ups though right Jeff Kent?) but this one is way up there. According to an AP report, Tiger Woods was too stiff to play the back 9 at The Barclays on Wednesday from an injury related to a soft bed: He says his neck and back were stiff in the morning. He attributes it to a soft bed in his hotel and...

Tiger? Player of Year? 'Major' debate

With the trophies (that matter) out of the way, it's time for golfers to fill their pockets from the FedEx pinata and to size up the season. To the traditionalists, the PGA Championship at Oak Hill, the final major, brought down the curtain on the year. But there are bills to pay, and given that PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem could sell smog to Los Angeles, the traveling...

FedEx Cup playoffs: Some rips, plenty of riches

Jordan Spieth used words like ''incredible'' and ''amazing'' to describe Liberty National Golf Club. He can be forgiven. He's only 20. Spieth wasn't a member of any tour at the start of the year, and now he's taking part in the financial windfall known as the FedEx Cup playoffs. He has only been a full PGA Tour member for five weeks,...
