Here's your May 9th Pin Sheet: Vijay Singh suing PGA TOUR:  ""The PGA Tour has now finally admitted that the use of deer antler spray is not prohibited," the suit reportedly reads. "Rather than performing its duties to golfers first, and then determining whether there had been any violation of the Anti-Doping Program, the PGA Tour rushed to judgment and accused one of the world's hardest working and most dedicated golfers of violating the rules of the game."" Players react to suit. Lawsuit includes suspension details:  "The lawsuit states: “In a letter dated February 19, 2013, the PGA Tour informed Singh of his discipline. The disciplinary aspect of the suspension letter reads: ‘The sanction imposed on you for your clear violation of the Program rules is ineligibility to participate in PGA Tour or Web.com Tour competitions and any related activities for a period of 90 days.’”" Q&A with Singh's lawyers.   Bob Harig, meanwhile, not a fan of Singh's decision:  "It says more than a little something about the man, a Hall of Famer for goodness' sake, to stick it to the tour on the eve of its signature event at TPC Sawgrass, where The Players Championship begins Thursday and where he will play in the event for the 21st time."   Right.  On to golf: Farrell Evans says The Players is still the 5th Major:  "The Players is arguably the best and most important golf tournament in the world outside of the majors. The emergence of the World Golf Championships with their elite fields and big purses have garnered major-like attention within the game, but The Players is still the symbolic leader for status as the unofficial fifth major." Brilliance from Doug Ferguson on the mystery that is Sawgrass:  "The list of winners is impressive, though it doesn't offer concrete clues except that two-thirds are major champions. More curious is how infrequently some of the game's best players are even in the mix late Sunday afternoon." Ryan Lavner writes about Rory's struggles at The Players:  "Indeed, last year’s Players, remember, was the start of his abbreviated slump, a stretch of four missed cuts in five starts that cost him a chance at two majors. All was forgotten a few months later, of course, when his five-win season was capped by Player of the Year honors on both sides of the pond." Adam Scott not satisfied after Masters triumph:  "Scott is sure to have a growing following with his return to play this week. He is enjoying his new status, but he wants to keep building on his game this year. Whether, as Norman predicts, he can surpass Thomson’s five majors isn’t so much on his mind, but he does want more majors." Scott tired of the anchored putter debate (amen, brother):  "“I think I’ll be relieved when it’s all over and we can all get beyond it,” he said at The Players. “I may or may not like the outcome of that, but I think we’ve all spent enough energy on it now.”" Oy.  Poor Derek Ernst. DL3 is back in action this week.  Pun intended.
