What is going on...somebody fill me in!!!!

Hey guys, on a non lacrosse blog I need to find some answers!!!

Here are my pressing questions. I thought I knew sports, but it seems as though I may have been wrong!!!!

1. How did the Lions make out in the draft this weekend. My knowledge of College football only goes as far as Michigan, whoever plays Michigan and the Big Ten in general. How did we make out?

2. What is wrong with the Pistons? I know we tied it up tonight in Philly, but my prediction to have them win the NBA title certainly looks to be in jepordy the way they are stuck in such a battle with the 76'ers. Did I just not give them enough respect? Either way, what doesn't kill us makes us stonger, so maybe this help the Pistons in the long run...who knows?

3. What is wrong with the Sharks? I still have them winning the West, but they have looked very poor in the first two games of their series with the Stars. Maybe I underestimated the Stars again, but I still really like the makeup of the Sharks. I won't rollover on them yet, but they really need their big guns to come alive!!!

4. Why does America spend so much time on the lead up to the NFL draft? Now, I love how the NFL has made such a big deal out of their draft, and as is everything with the NFL they know how to do it better than all the other proffessional leagues, but come on....I've been seeing Mel Keiper talking draft since the day after the Super Bowl....COME ON!!!!

5. Why did Mike Hart drop so low??? I loved watching this kid play at Michigan. He is tough as nails and always showed up in the big games. Is his size that much of a concern? I hope he goes off in the Colt's offense. Good like Mikey.

6. I have no questions regarding the Habs, as they are exactly where I'd hope they'd be!!! GO HABS!!!!!

Those are my burning questions. I'm sure some of them will get answered with time, but in the meantime, maybe some of you guys from the yard can help me out.

Until next time,

I really was going to refrain from leaving you a message until after Pistons/76ers game 3, but I just got back from watching the Flyers/Habs game.

1. Not sure about the Lions. I was away this weekend as well. But it looks like you and I have found another team to argue about as I am a PENN STATER and you like Michigan. It's okay; no one's perfect (just kidding!).
2. It's gotta be a combination of the 76ers overachieving and the Pistons underachieving. I don't think that even we, the Philly fans, think this team is for real as there are still playoff tickets available. This would be unheard of a few years ago.
3. Yeah, I have no idea why the Sharks are not doing as well as they are, considering they've got Thornton and Cheechoo and a great supporting cast of players.
4. So... are the Habs still doing as well as you thought they would?? ;-) There's still a good chance that Montreal will kick our butts...

Hope that fills you in enough!

thanks for the response...As for being a Penn State fan, I should have just figured!!! Things are back where they should be in Pistons land, but the Habs/Flyers seemed to be destined for 7 games if Biron keeps up his act!!!!

Stay tuned.

Cheers,

Oops... I meant Pistons/76ers game 5.

Hey Colin. The Lions made out well. They drafted the #1 rusher in the nation. And although he didn't come from a Division 1 school, please think it was a good pick. There's also some talk that they will trade Roy Williams, for whom they'd get something good in return. In terms of the Pistons/76ers, the Sixers are a young, hungry, athletic team, and they had one of the best second halfs of the season in the entire league. The Pistons have lots of experience and saavy, but the young Sixers are giving them a run for their money. Regardless of who wins this series though, I don't see anyone challenging the Celtics in the East. Baseball used to be America's Pasttime, but it has recently become the NFL. People love their teams, and the season is now a year long affair: Draft, mini-camps, training camps, season, playoffs, super bowl, free agency, etc.

Allright, that's it for now. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the NFL news, I really don't know enough about it to see how the Lions did. I hear this rusher is actually pretty good, and I do hope we trade Roy for a solid linemen or a kick butt saftey/defensive back. That is where we need to get better now!!

Speaking of the Celts......who would have thunk it??

Thanks for the note,

I thought Mike Hart would go higher, but most scouts had him pegged right around the sixth round. It was a weak draft overall but a strong draft for RBs. Hart should thrive in Indy. I hope he does well. I've always like the Wolverines. And the Pistons. But I'm pulling for the Broad Street Bullies to take down your Habs!

Yea, i think heart should gone higher, he is easily good enough. Lakers all the way.
laxowns---<o)

Hart will do weill in that system, i can't wait for him to prove people wrong, he's been doing it his whole carreer!!! Pistons are back strong, but playing like bullies will catch up with your Flyers!!

Habs are looking shaky!
Sharks: Nabokov - problem- Offense needs some team work and Dallas is strong
Draft - overrated - some of the greatest stars in all sports have gone in the 2nd or 3rd round and some of the top draft picks fall way short of expectations....it's a crap shoot...and the value placed on each draft pick a public opinion based on performance - depending on the divsion and team your playing on can really sku the performance(s) ratings
Playoffs in NBA/NHL/NLL: teams that come together and "get hot" at the right time get the momentum (sp?) and look out!
Watch those Penguins....

Oh, and someone better pay attention to the Stealth - hear your on fire out there! lol....

Must feel good...
