The Denver Outlaws announced Monday that Goalie Jesse Schwartzman was named the MLL’s Warrior Defensive Player of the Week. This mention coming after a 10-9 overtime win against the Boston Cannons this past Saturday night, where he stopped 24 of 33 shots. This recognition is nothing new to him as he was honored as the Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2013. Schwartzman, who’s in his seventh season with the Outlaws finished the night with his 61st career win between the pipes, making him the MLL’s all-time winningest goalie. Saturday’s win, was also Denver’s 23rd straight regular-season victory. Schwartzman, who has twice been named Goalie of the Year back in 2009 and 2013, is the only goalie in MLL history to give up an average of less than 10 goals per game.
