These guys are players who we had high hopes for but we needed to see just one more solid season before proclaiming them as consistently fantasy-relevant. They might have had a solid half of a season but in 2012, they stretched it out over the course of the year. I had my doubts about a few of these guys, but alas, I do not any more.

10. Ryan Doumit, C/OF, MIN
Doumit played games at catcher, designated hitter and in the outfield for the Twins, giving Joe Mauer a rest behind the plate. He wasn’t lights out, but he hit 3 or more homers in four of the season’s six months and also drove in 10 runs or more in every month but June. He was a consistency player last season, and those are the type of guys I trust in fantasy.
