Current Situation: Captain Derek Jeter will be
holding down the shortstop position for the Yankees until at least
2011. He is signed throughout the 2010 season, but after that there is
a lot of speculation on whether or not Jeter will remain in the
position. Despite his deteriorating defense (Jeter was named the worst
defensive player in baseball), he has remained consistent with the bat.
It's safe to assume that the captain will have around 200 hits and 100
runs, as long as he stays healthy.
