Heading into last offseason, the best days for Xavier Nady appeared to have past. Nady had only played in seven games in 2009 when he was in New York and saw his power zapped and his average dip considerably in 2010 when he was in the Windy City with the Cubs.
Despite that and while turning 32, the Diamondbacks took a chance on Nady by signing him to a one-year deal last December. All things considering, Nady did a pretty solid job in his first and more than likely in his last season in Arizona with the Diamondbacks.
Seeing time as a starter at first base and occasional left fielder giving Gerardo Parra days off against tough lefties, Nady hit .248 with four home runs and 35 RBI’s. At one point in late May, X saw his average near the .280 mark, but saw it dip as the season wore on.
Nady also did a pretty solid job with his glove manning two very different and at times difficult positions. The veteran committed only three errors and had a total of 33 assists at both first base ...
