Making his second start since returning from the disabled list, Arizona Diamondbacks starter Daniel Hudson went eight innings against the San Diego Padres, allowing two runs with three strikeouts to pick up his second win of the season. This week is probably the last week you may be able to pick up Hudson cheap in a trade so now is the time to move if you are looking to upgrade a rotation spot.

First basemen Paul Goldschmidt is getting on a little bit of a roll for the Diamondbacks with a 10-game hitting streak and Saturday night he hit his third home run in his last six games. He has also raised his batting average 40 points since May 1, boosting it from .230 up to .270 after last night’s 1-for-5 game.

Chicago Cubs outfielder Tony Campana stole two more bases Saturday night giving him 18 for the season and seven in his last five games, despite only starting two of those contests. If the team would throw him out there on a more consistent basis, his value would be so much higher with 18 steals in just 95 at bats.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Brian Matusz continued his turn around since his shelling back on May 7th, as he allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. Matusz has now allowed three runs or less in his last five starts and has struck out 21 in his last 19 2/3 innings.

Starting pitcher Chris Young of the New York Mets is likely to return to the major leagues next week so Johan Santana can get an extra day or two of rest after throwing 134 pitches in his no-hitter. Despite velocity in the low 80s, Young has a 2.35 ERA in four minor league starts, but he has struck out just nine in 23 innings. Given his injury problems on the last couple of seasons, he really has little value outside of the deepest of NL-only leagues.

Roy Oswalt made his first start of the 2012 season for the Triple-A Round Rock Express and worked two scoreless innings with three hits allowed. He was clocked at at a high of 04 mph while sitting in the low 90s for the majority of his fastballs. Oswalt will likely make at least three more starts in the minor leagues before Texas considers bringing him up.
