The 2012 Orioles finished 93-69, just behind the New York Yankees in the AL East division. Some feel it was done in mirrors, as the team benefitted from several wins in their last at bat. They also got a nearly flawless season from their bullpen, something to difficult to duplicate. However, led by manager Buck Showalter, they deserve credit for not just getting off to a good start, but playing at a high level for the entire season. The Orioles enter the 2013 season with more of a target on their back. The Orioles had a very quiet off season. Infielder Mark Reynolds (.221, 23, 69) left to play for the Cleveland Indians. For the exception of re-signing Nate McLouth (.268, 7, 18, 12 SB in 55 games), the team is going with the same look for this season. It may not be a bad thing as they have built a relatively young team that should be competitive for years to come. But to win 93 games again would be a bigger miracle than the 2012 version.
