We are still in the month of may, meaning playoff hopes ares still alive. Is there a free agent that could help the royals? Lets take a look.1: This might shock you but, Roy Oswalt is still a free agent. Yes. the former all-star pitcher who had a 3.69 ERA last year, and played 139 innings. He made 16 million dollars last year, you could expect his salary to fall to 7-9 million per year meaning he could be a steal if we pick him up for like a 2 year 14 million dollar deal. While he is 34 years old he still has years of throwing left in that arm. He could be the ace the Royals need in the rotation.2: Another pitcher the Royals could sign is Scott Kazmir. While he struggled last year with a 5.94 ERA, don't let the stats fool you he is still a very good pitcher. With a career average ERA of 4.17 and a record of 66 wins, and 61 losses. He seems like the perfect replacement for Danny Duffy or a good pitcher to keep on the roster as insurance, in case another pitcher goes down. While...

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals sit at 20-17 after a 6-2 home stand. The Kansas City Royals Double-A Texas League affiliate currently sits second, four games behind the Tulsa Drillers (Colorado Rockies) in the North division.Leading the Naturals, right fielder Wil Myers has been red-hot, hitting two home runs on Monday, giving him 13 on the season, to go along with 30 RBIs in...
This team is hopeless. Dayton Moore has run it into the ground. The Glass family hasn’t been willing to spend to keep pace with the big-market clubs.
Ned Yost is a terrible in-game strategist. He mismanages his bullpen. “The Process” is just a myth. Our so-called “best farm system in baseball” means nothing at the big league level.
Something about our development of young...
SPRINGDALE, AR - The Naturals’ parent club, the Kansas City Royals announced a pair transactions on Wednesday morning affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster. Outfielder Wil Myers has been promoted to Triple-A Omaha, and outfielder Nick Van Stratten has been transferred from Extended Spring Training to Northwest Arkansas.
Myers spent the early part of the 2012 season terrorizing...
Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals received the worst-case-scenario news Monday. Duffy, who left Sunday's game in Chicago after 13 pitches, has a torn ulnar ligament in his left elbow and is probably bound for season-ending Tommy John surgery. Royals physician Vincent Key diagnosed the tear after examining Duffy on Monday in Kansas City. Duffy will seek a second opinion...
Danny Duffy is headed for surgery. After an MRI revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament in Duffy’s left elbow, it looks like Tommy John surgery will sideline the left-hander until next season. A former top prospect in the Kansas City Royals’ farm system, Duffy reached the majors last season. And even though he struggled initially, the 23-year-old seemed to be making progress...
Mid-May callups are an intriguing lot, and the opportunities for older minor leaguers to get their first run as everyday options seem to peak as most teams wait until early or mid June to start their prospects' arbitration clocks. In some instances, an organization will give a mid-level prospect his first exposure to the big leagues, and that player will prove capable of replacing...
Mike Moustakas homered, Billy Butler and Brayan Pena each drove in a pair of runs and the Kansas City Royals kept Texas' potent offense in check for a second straight game in a 7-4 win over the Rangers on Tuesday night.
The Royals took advantage of two throwing errors by Rangers starter Colby Lewis (3-3) to score five unearned runs in the first two innings.
It has been 12 years since the Royals have had multiple players in the MLB All-Star Game, but this could be the year that streak ends.
The 2012 All-Star Game will be played at beautiful Kauffman Stadium on July 10. For 3 days, the city of Kansas City and the Kansas City Royals organization will take center stage in the baseball world. The hope was that the Royals would have an exciting...

(AP) -- If the Kansas City Royals had any lingering memories from last month's 12-game losing streak, their play of late should put those completely out of mind.
Coming off two impressive wins over one first-place team, the Royals look to continue their best stretch of the season against another Wednesday night when they host the Baltimore Orioles.
The season appeared to be...
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Adam Jones homered with one out in the 15th inning, lifting the Baltimore Orioles to a 4-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.
Jones was hitless in six at-bats before connecting for his team-leading 12th home run -- nine of them tying the game or giving the Orioles a lead. Jones sent a 2-2 pitch from Nate Adcock (0-1), the fifth Kansas...
Roy Oswalt auditioned for the Phillies last week in Mississippi. Photo (AP)Ken Rosenthal of Fox Spots is reporting that the Phils watched Roy Oswalt throw a bullpen session last week near his Mississippi home while the Boston Red Sox took a look at him this week. Rosenthal Tweeted: “One source said Oswalt appeared in good shape, but not surprisingly, more in spring-training mode...
Source: Oswalt also throwing for two other teams, one today. Do not know which clubs. Already has thrown for #Phillies, #RedSox.

Before the season, the Red Sox were unsure about their status of their bottom two of the rotation. They have been better than expected but there is always room for improvement.
Ken Rosenthal is reporting that...

The Phillies need pitching. Badly. With Vance Worley's injury, the Phillies' pitching staff is about as injured as it was back in 2007, when they blew through an unbelieveable 28 pitchers.
Where can you get a veteran pitcher in May when few options exist? Well, Buster Olney of ESPN thinks that Roy Oswalt may be the answer. Olney...
