Source: Josh D. Weiss-US PRESSWIRE Jair Jurrjens is one of the most coveted right handers in baseball this off season, and supposedly the Atlanta Braves aren't that willing to trade him unless they get a huge package for him. Jurrjens had a huge year last year. I take that back. Jurrjens had a huge first half of the year last year. For as good as he was in the first 3 months, he was just as bad in the last 3 months, and that's to expected with a lot of young pitchers. I don't really know why the Braves are so against trading Jurrjens. I think it would be a great move for many reasons because the Braves are not that far away from being a dominant force once again. They have some young bats like Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman. They have an outstanding back end of the pen with Craig Kimbrel and Johnny Venters. They have some real good arms in their rotation already, but with all that being said- The 5th reason why I trade him? He's been banged up. He'...

Atlanta Braves’ Top Ten Prospects for 2012

It seems like has been the top prospect for a long time. It shows how fast he has moved in the Braves’ organization. He is one of the best arms in all of baseball. He has a hard fastball that he can get up to 97 MPH, a plus changeup that has sinking motion and a good curveball. It was hard to envision Teheran improving on his 2010 season, but he surpassed that easily. He won...

Moylan has Twitter spat with band Nickelback

There was an old joke about oldtime songwriter Steve Allen it dates back a bit, but stay with me. Basically, two guys are talking about great songwriters and the first guys says, "Steve Allen's pretty good. He's written hundreds of songs." The other guy, without a beat, says, "Really? Name two." For all I know, Nickelback may be a pretty good band...

Peter Moylan and Nickelback – TWITTER FIGHT!!! Does Anyone Care? Probably Not…

Remember Peter Moylan? Well probably not, but I think I wrote an article about how he likes to wear women’s clothing, when the Atlanta Braves aren’t busy being choke artists. Well, the relief pitcher for the Braves must have just gone to a Foo Fighters concert or something, and not been able to find his panty hose – because he decided to pick on Nickelback. So...

Peter Moylan Takes on Nickelback

This is quite the Hot Stove season for Braves fans, huh? It's not every year that you trade one player (Martin Prado) to all 29 other teams in baseball, plus a few minor league affiliates, for every guy over the age of 21 who's ever stepped foot in the outfield or on the dirt between second and third base. And Jair Jurrjens! In the course of just a few weeks, he became a...

MLB: Fred McGriff is a Hall of Famer of the "No Doubt" Variety

Written by: Adam Cubbage When I was younger, growing up in Savannah, Georgia, I remember being glued to Atlanta Braves baseball from the age of six. That year was 1990, and as has been well documented the next year started an unprecedented run of division success in Atlanta that has made it the brand it is today—sprinkled in were the opportunities to watch legends at work. ...

Reds not pursuing Jurrjens, source says

Although there is a report to the contrary, the Reds do not appear to be going hard after Braves starter Jair Jurrjens.

Pirates, McLouth closing in on deal

Yep, it’s true…Nate McLouth is likely coming back to Pittsburgh. McLouth, of course, was traded to Atlanta in 2009 for Charlie Morton, Gorkys Hernandez, and Jeff Locke. He has struggled ever since leaving the Burgh, but wouldn’t be a bad fourth outfielder to spell Alex Presley and Jose Tabata. As long as he doesn’t cost much and the Bucs don’t plan on...

McLouth close to returning to Pirates

The Pirates are close to reaching a deal with free agent Nate McLouth, a source confirmed to MLB.com on Tuesday afternoon. McLouth, an outfielder, was drafted by the Pirates in 2000 and broke into the big leagues in 2005 before being traded to Atlanta in 2009.
