Player of the Game

Carlos Santana snagged this Player of the Game late with a meaningless two run home run down the left field line. Santana also knocked in the first run of the game for a final Player of the Game score of 5.22. No one else did anything worth mentioning so it was nice of Santana to provide some kind of bright spot.

Feathers Up

Justin Masterson got the first five hitters to ground out to Jason Kipnis at second and the next batter to ground out to first. Masterson is his best when he is getting ground balls and he was certainly at his best early tonight. When the game was over Masterson had 14 ground outs, two strike outs and one fly out.

Milestone Alert: Justin Masterson's first strikeout tonight was career number 456 as an Indian, tying him for 40th all time with Allie Reynolds.

Feathers Down

Late in the game Jebediah Masterson fell apart as he allowed another home run to Josh Willingham, an earned run in the fifth after allowing a triple and four more in the 6th off a couple of Twins doubles. He looked like a completely different pitcher after being perfect through 3.2 innings to start the game. It's almost like somebody told him inbetween innings that he pitched well last start and was due for another bad one.

And you thought last night's game was bad. At the Indians had the excuse of a left handed starter and Josh Tomlin in that game.

The Indians fell below .500 for just the third time this season and were unable to take advantage of the Tigers losing early in the day to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Play of the Game

Jack Hannahan made this great diving stop that was overshadowed by a terrible game.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 3 - Minnesota Twins 12
