Roster & September Call-Up Update: Today, the Indians added former Diamondbacks and Twins outfielder Jason Kubel to the 25 man roster, designating Carlos Carrasco back to AAA Columbus. They also announced their initial September call-ups that will be joining the team in the next few days as well. On September first relief pitchers Preston Guilmet, Nick Hagadone and Blake Wood will be activated. All three have been in the Indians system all year and Guilmet and Hagadone have played for the big league team. Joining them will be Jose Ramirez (a middle infielder from Akron) and Kelly Shoppach. Ramirez is a big surprise, surpassing Juan Diaz and the rest of the AAA infielders as the only position player being brought up. Shoppach was signed just yesterday and will fill the Indians desparate need of third string catcher.
Clay Rapada, Vinnie Pestano, Carlos Carrasco, Josh Tomlin and C.C. Lee are all expected to be added as well once the Clippers season is finished.
