Chron.com:
Jacoby Ellsbury stole his 35th base, becoming the first Red Sox player to reach that mark in consecutive years since Tris Speaker from 1912-14. He also became the first AL player to do it in consecutive years before the All-Star break since soon-to-be 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Rickey Henderson did it in 1988-90.

Is Ramon Ramirez a good option?
Before the season started, Keith Law mentioned that Ramon Ramirez may not have been as good as advertised. I listened, but gave Ramirez the chance to prove Law wrong. For I looked at the Ramirez trade as a way to rid of salary (Coco Crisp). And also a way to bring in a solid reliever in Ramon--although unspectacular. Ramirez was great in 2008. A 2.84...
Six Red Sox Head to St. Louis
Six members of the Boston Red Sox will be heading to St. Louis for the All-Star Game on July 14th. Jason Bay and Dustin Pedroia were elected by the fans. That guy from New York (his name escapes me at the moment) beat out Kevin Youkilis at first, but Youk was added to the roster, as were pitchers Jonathan Papelbon and Josh Beckett. Also on is Tim Wakefield, who will be making his...
7/3: Wake's All-Star Statement Game
Tim Wakefield has never been to an All-Game and this year may be his best and last chance. With a 10-3 record, the few blips that bounced his ERA above 4.00 can be ignored along the way, especially with a win in a head to head duel with 8-3 Felix Hernandez (2.54 ERA) tonight.

Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens was reportedly not among the 100-plus players who tested positive for performance-enhancing substances in 2003, when the league conducted an anonymous drug test throughout the league.
Not Going to Eleven
Tim Wakefield did not earn his 11th win of the season, but he didn’t lose either. Nick Green hit a two-run, two-out double in the eighth to tie the Mariners at five, and taking Wakefield off the hook for the loss. Rob Johnson got those two back with a double in the top [...]

Yankees' Mark Teixeira edges out Red Sox' Kevin Youkilis for All-Star nod at first base
Mark Teixeira picked up more than 1.4 million votes in the final three days of balloting to pass Boston's Kevin Youkilis and land the starting job at first base for the American League in this year's All-Star Game.
All-Star Break Ahead
Baseball has the best of the All-Star games, although for me the game changed after interleague play. I'm not too concerned about how many Sox players get selected or not, although I'm sure that contractually some probably have All-Star bonus clauses. If you make ten million dollars a year, should you be rewarded additionally if you perform TO expectations? Hey, that's what contract...
