Alex Rodriguez has been benched by the Yankees so he can overcome his exhaustion. And what, you ask, could a young, fit man like A-Rod be doing to tire himself out so much? The New York Post offers an answer:

Kate Hudson may be wearing A-Rod out. The slumping Yankee slugger missed most of last night’s [...]

  • Wow, this chick gets around...
  • This writer dan zinski calls A Rod a douchebag. How about this gossiping old woman?! It's none of his damn business who A Rod is partying or sleeping with. Writers like this make me sick to my stomach. Hell, if he wasn't out with beautiful women I would think there was something wrong with him. Hey zinski, go find a local church bingo game to attend, the cackling hens will give you plenty of gossip to write about you stinkin' wuss.
  • No it doesn't matter who he's partying or sleeping with. However, his priorites don't seem to be on baseball. A-Roid needs to realize that if it wasn't for his talent and playing on the Yankees, he'd be a nobody.
  • Blame it on his lack of Performance Enhancing Drugs. If the dude is good, it doesnt matter who he plays for. You make the team not the other way around.
  • I agree with both hockeychick AND giants repeat (although your name is gross) His priorities aren't on Baseball and they probably should be, BUT it's none of our (or anybody else's) business who A-Rod party's with.
  • The problem ckenn is we live in a nosy freakin' society where people feel they need to know everything and then turn in into a useless reality TV show. I don't feel like I have to, and this writer is just an old lady gossip. Hell, Babe Ruth use to stay out to the wee hours and go smash 500 foot homers with a hangover. ARod may not be lighting it up right now, but I could care less what he does off the field or where he is dipping his wick. He hasn't killed anybody. When he snaps out of his funk nobody will even remember this article or it's phony opportunistic writer. Be cool dude.
  • He's using her to get to her mom
  • A-Fraud, biggest waste of 225 million ever! At least he has the money to buy himself a ring.
  • Hey ckenneweg, how can you say it's nobodies business when fans around baseball get there wallets out and hurt every time they go to the park to watch a baseball game. It's because of salaries like Rodriguez's and other overpaid players that it cost a famiy of four $200 to go see a Major League baseball game....and those are the cheap seats.
You probably don't remember the shock when the first Million dollar salary was earned.....now utility players are earning that much. I suggest you read the article again. Rodriguez sitting out three games is making more in those games than his replacement makes in a year....and that isn't affecting your ability to go see a game?
I'll sit here on the Cape and watch future players and potential stars, play competitive baseball, enjoy the game, sign endless autographs for anyone, and pay exactly $0 dollars to do it.
  • It's not A-Rod's fault he's ridiculously overpaid. If you want to point a finger at somebody for your empty wallet, point it in the direction of the Steinbrenner's. The clown's who are paying A-Rod obscene amounts of money which he probably doesn't deserve.
  • Fans can stay home too dave, nobody is holding a gun to their heads. Yet baseball is at it's most popular right now. As far as seeing minor leaguers, not every fan is close to a minor league facility. And players making million, come on, the owners are raking it in so they have to pay these salaries, no way around it. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it's just the way it is. And fans like you and I will never change it.
  • There is a rumor being bandied about that seems too have cachet "With Those In The Knows" (please excuse the grammar knows is the lone verb that can accomodate Those) that Kate Hudson is far more
effective in stopping A- (Hyper Active) Rod than the combined rotation of the Boston Red Sox. Even A-Rod
himself has stated that Kate has better stuff than any one he has faced or looked at. And the largest amounts of curves which is her formula for wearing A ("The") Rod OUT.
The Commissioners office has made inquiries as to whether she is on the Red Sox Payroll.
Stay tuned for the next episode of "As A-Rod Turns".

A-Rod Is Sent to Bench for Fatigue (or the Vapors)

Alex Rodriguez, in the midst of a spectacularly bad 2009, has been pulled from the starting lineup for at least two games due to fatigue by Brian Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner (and not Joe Girardi).  Rodriguez finally agreed to the forced sabbatical after a phone call-née-intervention involving Cashman, Steinbrenner, Rodriguez’s doctors, his Aunt Ginny, and [...]

A-Rod Rehab Plan Apparently Includes Lap Dances

Say what you will about Madonna; at least she had Alex Rodriguez home by bedtime. I wasn’t going to write anything about this brewing A-Rod late night carousing story, because staying out until 2:30 a.m. for a pro baseball player isn’t that big of a deal, even if you have been benched due to fatigue. A Day Off a Week for A-Rod

River Ave. Blues discusses the latest treatment for Alex Rodriguez’s hip. He’ll rest one day a week. The more I think about this weekend’s A-Rod injury flap, the more I wonder how the Yankees could get this one so wrong. Just two months removed from a major labrum procedure, Joe Girardi penciled A-Rod into the [...]

Joe G Trying To Hold Onto His Job

A-Rod in Spotlight, Back to Old Ways

by Lisa OlsonFiled under: MLBIn a kinder, gentler world, one without cell phone cameras and the insatiable desire to know everything about everyone, here's what would be relevant: Alex Rodriguez is in a brutal slump, the Yankees are in a bit of trouble and most of the pertinent details can be found in the latest box scores. In a Jon and Kate world, here's the, ahem, rest...

Set Expectations for A-Rod at Wait-and-See

There is much hand-wringing over Alex Rodriguez, his .213/.371/.456 batting line, and the eight-plus years remaining on his contract. It is understandable, of course: for the kind of money the Yankees are paying A-Rod, more was expected. These are supposed to be the seasons that justify the money A-Rod will be making in his forties, [...]

A-Rod to sit out one day a week

It was hard to tell whether two days of rest helped Alex Rodriguez, but the slumping third baseman will have some more days off coming his way in the near future to help him get past the fatigue that has slowed him down this month.

A-Rod plays, but it didn't matter much

And on the seventh day, A-Rod didn't rest. Not that it mattered much -- 1 for 4 with as many whiffs as RBI (two). For a player with Alex Rodriguez's resume, that's a line remarkable only in that it raised his batting average from .212 to .213. Maybe, to paraphrase boxing manager Joe Jacobs at a frigid World Series game, he shoulda stood in bed.

Yankees Need An Alarm

I don't know who told the Yankees that it was okay to snooze through series with the Nationals and the Marlins.Because they have, they're now four out of first and once again in third place. It's as though something happened when they got swept in Boston. Everything had been going swimmingly well, and then, boom, not any more. The weather hasn't helped, but they are...
