Sixth Inning PNC Park The culmination of a week long bike trip with my Boy Scout troop that encompassed 150 miles was a baseball game on the fourth of July at PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gary Amato Is Now With The Nationals Organization

Here’s a crazy story for all of you who want to know some of the more interesting parts about this business. The Road to 17: The Green Mile

But, oh God, sometimes the Green Mile seems so long. For a long time, I was the kid that used to tell everyone every spring that this year was the year that the Pirates would break their losing streak. I gave up on that a few years ago, when I finally realized each spring that bad teams don't magically turn in to good teams. As has been said ad nauseum this year, there's...

Well. It is a deep subject.

.235 .229 .195   .167 .160   Those are batting averages.   These are the players:   Monroe Hinske Moss   Bixler Vazquez   Jack Wilson can not get back soon enough at short.  His .255 batting average dwarfs those of Bixler and Vazquez.  Vazquez has the redeeming value of walking 12 times to double his batting average to...
