Mark-buehrles-monster-ride
Ravens CB Chris McAlister has one. So does Shaq. And now Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle has one also. These rides cost at least six figures and can run as high as $200,000. Ridiculous. If you've ever seen one in person, you're left with no doubt it could be used to invade a small country.

Pete Rose: idiot of the day award

I've always supported Pete Rose. He was a fantastic baseball player: a 17 time All-Star at 5 different positions, Rookie of the Year, NL Most Valuable Player, World Series Most Valuable Player, Roberto Clemente Award winner, 3 time league leader in Batting Average, 7-time league leader in hits, and all-time Major League leader in games played and hits. Charlie Hustle was no slouch...

Javier Vazquez traded to the Braves

The Braves have made their first move of the offseason by acquiring starting pitcher Javier Vazquez from the Chicago White Sox in a 5-player deal. The Braves gave up pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes, infielder Brett Lillibridge, and and another unnamed prospect. In addition to Vazquez the Braves also got reliever Boone Logan. Braves fans have to be happy with this deal as it is a good start...

When You're Hot, You're Hot

I don't know how else to put it, the Indians are on fire! Since August 1, the Indians have gone 34-12, they have gone 14-2 in their last 16 games. If they continue on this streak they could possibly win the American League Central. They are only behind the Chicago White Sox by 2 and ½ games. But...

Deep Thoughts (and Brain Farts) by Gordon Beckham

Today's Link of the Day comes from Chicago White Sox Spring Training camp, where rookie shortstop Gordon Beckham is not only turning heads with his impressive play, but also making veterans laugh with the occasional brain fart. Luckily, he is chronicling it all at his own blog on MLBlogs.com.

Swisher and Texeira Are Newest Yanks

In effort to beef up their defense, the New York Yankees acquired center fielder-first baseman Nick Swisher on Thursday through a trade with the Chicago White Sox. For Swisher, the Yankees traded away infielder Wilson Betemit and minor league pitchers Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez. Also arriving in the Bronx with Swisher is minor league pitcher Kanekoa Texeira. In the '08...

Twins Chisox 1 Game Playoff Shoulda Been In Minnesota

Ok, the Chicago White Sox are in for the playoffs, and they earned it last night. But I truly believe the game should have been played in Minnesota. Unlike football that uses a tie breaker set of rules for obvious reasons, baseball flips a coin to decide where the one game playoff gets held. That is ridiculous! While football needs the tie breaker rules since the game is so physical...

Swisher hosts 8-year-old cancer survivor

Swisher hosts 8-year-old cancer survivor Associated Press 10:03 PM CDT, July 1, 2008 CHICAGO - Adam Bender is usually pretty talkative but he had a hard time finding any words Tuesday when Chicago White Sox first baseman Nick Swisher welcomed the eight-year-old to U.S. Cellular Field. Bender, who had his left leg amputated at the age of one after a successful battle against...

Francisco Rodriguez chases 57

Tonight Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez saved his 51st game of the season in pursuit of the MLB record 57 games saved held by Bobby Thigpen for the 1990 Chicago White Sox. With over a month left in the season, here's saying he breaks it. Having said that, there are several by-products that will invariably result from such an accomplishment and I wanted to look over those here now.
