Big O

Believe me, I can spend a lot of time writing about the offense. It always seems like somebody is picking us up. If the pitching is bad the offense picks it up and when the hitting is not there the pitching picks it up. It's just good team ball when you can win both ways.

But when I wrote the headline I was writing about Orlando Cabrera. With the All Star game coming up and the team being announced tomorrow I'd love to see his name called. He's been unbelievable on defense and at the plate. As a pitcher his defense has been great. He's making the routine plays and the spectacular ones. As a pitching staff, having a guy like that behind you allows you to be much more aggressive in the zone.

On offense it's been as good as his defense. Even when he's been getting out he is hitting it on the barrell. He has been unbelievably consistent, really dialed in this season. I would love to see him make the All Star team. He deserves to be there.

Agreed. OC has been awesome this year. It would be a shame if he was not on the roster this year.
Did you see my sign last weekend?

definately true. he's been more consistent than any other seasons playing with you. if he isnt there, then im going to stop watching baseball on national tv. the two of you, me in high school a pitcher first and middle infielder second, are my idols.

I'm curious to see if he gets picked tomorrow too. Congrats John! At least I know your getting selected for San Fran.....

he MUST be an All-star. His numbers are damn near identical to Jeter's. He has 47 RBI's and could have 50 by the all-star break.

I think Vlad, Cab, you, Esco, and Krod should without a doubt go. I would also add Shields, Kotch, 7's, and if Figgy had an average first month he'd be batting close to .400 right now making him a strong candidate. That's 9 guys who are having seasons that merit all-star consideration and I honestly cannot remember an Angels team that was this deep.

Good luck against the O's later on. You guys need to start a new series streak!

I am really upset about Cabrera being snubbed for the All Star Game...he deserves it, hopefully the fans can vote him in the final internet ballot...he has been awesome this year and I know the Angel fans appreciate him....I want to say congrats to John Lackey on making the All Star team, you deserve it!!! Also congrats go to Frankie Rodriguez and Vlad Guerrero!!!

Congratulations on making your first All Star game appearance.
But,,,,Mr.Cabrera should have been selected........

Well, because of the stupid "every team must have a representative" rule OC gets left off so Michael Young can make the team. *pukes*

Young is good don't get me wrong, but he was NOT having a good season and was hitting about .230 for most of the year until he got hot in June. OC has been great from day 1 and has been the best defensive SS in the AL by far. A shame he didn't make it

but, we got a chance to send another Halo to the All-star game. Kelvim Escobar has never been an All-star, its time he gets rewarded for his season to date. Vote away Halo fans. Lets get Escobar into the game!

It is too bad that OC did not get selected to the All Star Team, but I am very happy that we are well represented with you, Vladdy and Frankie....

CONGRATS BIG JOHN!....You deserve it

Congrats john!

by the way that was cute when you playfully hit mike and he hit you back.

haha yeah i saw that, it was funny

It didn't look playful a few moments later in the dugout. John walked over to where Nap was sitting and then it looked like they were getting into each other's face to the point where Mike Butcher stepped in between them. I'm sure it was it was all in the heat of the battle ..... maybe John was shaking off too many of Mike's signs?? How about it John???

great pitching today. i've now seen you hitting someone in the dugout at least three different times. congrats on being an all-star.

OC should have made it! its the East Coast fanatics who are just stupid over thier old players...and because they get tucked into bed 3 hours earlier then us each night they miss the sparkling play of OC (Just as Many missed the Angels remarkable romp to the World Series )...If Casey hadnt have gotten hurt there was a chance for him too....and Matthews sure has looked all star out there...and lets not forget how good Anderson has looked to start the season ...if he can recoup the 2nd half will be as fun if not more fun to watch then the first...John Enjoy your all star turn this year YOU have earned it!

not to be nosy but how come u hit him?
