The Boston Red Sox have placed Tim Wakefield on the 15-day disabled list due to a lower back strain. The move was made retroactive to July 17th.
The Red Sox have recalled Clay Buchholz from Triple-A Pawtucket to take Wake’s spot on the roster. Buchholz will start the finale of the series tomorrow night in Texas.
