While adhering to the request of the Milwaukee Brewers not to disclose that he was interviewed for their pitching coach vacancy, Rick Peterson couldn't help admitting Monday that he'd be a "perfect fit" for the club.
"I would say from my vantage point, it's a mutual fit," added Peterson.
Accordingly, it would be no great surprise if Peterson is named the Brewers' pitching coach by the end of the week. Contacted later in the day, general manager Doug Melvin said he'd like to have someone in place by then so he can move forward with other items on his extensive off-season checklist.
