Possessing a slight frame myself, I am fascinated by guys who can bring serious heat while weighing 165lbs. The names Pedro Martinez, Jason Frasor, Billy Wagner and others spring to mind. Add SF Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum to the list. Although it looks like he wakes up every morning with a sore neck, the writers at baseball think factory assure us he has an efficient delivery. Pay close attention to how in slow motion it looks like he steps over an imaginary object in his delivery, almost jumping off the mound. Pretty interesting.

  • That is a great breakdown. He's going to be the best pitcher in the game within two years. He gets beat up good in the fourth inning for some reason (batting AVG allowed on pitches 46-60 is .355), but only allows hitters to a .123 AVG over the next fifteen pitches. I chalk this up only to inexperience. With some re-tooling a staff of Cain, Lincecum, Lowry and Zito (if he can get it turned around) could be pretty dangerous.
  • I second that. But let's get those guys some offense, por favor. Cain is 4-13 and his ERA is in the 3s. 15 of his 24 starts have been "quality" starts (3 ER or less in 6+ IP). What a joke!
  • They could use some position players that aren't five years past their prime.
  • I think he balks every time he pitches.
  • he also shows his throwing hand at that point where he is "stepping over something."

Let's Get Some Runs

The Giants offense looked bad Monday night -- again -- but there was the saving grace of having the Cubs offense looke equally bad, thanks to Tim Lincecum.
