Could there be a Mulder comeback?

Instead of someone heading to the DL, the Cardinals finally got a player back on Monday. Mark Mulder made his first apperance in an MLB game since September of 2007. He had rotator cuff surgey for a second time after the 2007 season and wondered if he would ever pitch again. I know a save and recording three outs might not be a big deal for Mulder considering his success(All-Star game starter in 2003 and 2004, led the AL in wins in 2001, and led the AL in shutouts in 2001 and 2003) but it is. We all know how dominant he was in Oakland. Everyone thought he was going to come in and be apart of the best one-two punch in the game with Carpenter. Thus far that has not gone according to plan with Carpenter also spending time on the DL. Now after two rotator cuff surgeries and doubting if he would ever pitch again maybe just maybe he can reach that dominant level once again.

What a long haul for Mulder, and after reading all your facts, I realize this is a "major" step, but just a step, and there is a long way to go. Mulder is back in one way, but in other ways, we might have to wait for many more IP and even several starts, should it go that way. See, it's too hard to see the path. One step at a time, I guess.
