A lot of talk out there about a certain Presidential hopeful's experience and whether he has the credentials for the job. A few days ago, Stuart Scott of ESPN asked a Barack Obama who he would root for in a Cubs-White Sox World Series. His response?"Oh, that's easy. White Sox. I'm not one of these fair weather fans. You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there. People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball. Southside."This has caused quite a stir in Chicago with Cubs fan. I've read quotes in the Trib by these fans that Obama made a mistake in insulting Cubdom and now they wouldn't vote for him and would cast their vote for the other guy. I was shocked by this. I think I'm taking the 2008 Cubs for granted. I headed to my car for my commute home last night just as the Phillies were scoring three runs in the sixth. And even with Cole Hamels carving up the lineup, I never thought we were out of it. I tuned into XM radio by that point and it had Pat and Ron going and Pat was carrying on that the Phils bullpen has been worked hard lately...

Stop me if you've heard this one before: the Phillies wasted a Cole Hamels start. Hamels cruised against the Cubs for 7 innings, striking out 6 batters and giving up only 1 run. With the Phillies up 4-1, Hamels was relieved in the 8th inning by Ryan Madson, and the floodgates opened for the Cubs.
