In "We kind of figured you were already retired" news, Curt Schilling has announced his retirement on his blog, 38Pitches.com.
Schilling hadn't pitched since 2007 after missing all of last season with an injury. That is, after he signed a one-year, $8 million contract.
The question now is whether or not he is a Hall of Famer. Of course ESPN's Peter Gammons...

Curt Schilling made it official today, announcing his retirement from baseball. There will be no late-season signing and stretch run with the Cubs or Rays for Schilling.
