PLAYERS: Curt Schilling
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox

Curt Schilling is like a super hero in a comic book. Just when you think he's down for the count, he finds some way to throw himself back into the picture and vanquish his foes. Curt underwent his shoulder surgery yesterday and Dr. Morgan said that #38 can begin some light throwing in as little as 4 months. The rotator cuff hadn't torn like they thought it did and the surgery was declared a success. Schilling could be pitching off a mound by January at the earliest. Not to spit in the face of Red Sox management and doctors but wouldn't the situation have been solved if they had let Curt undergo the surgery months ago?

  • Let's be real, Curt Schilling drinks O'Douls.
  • To be fair, he also drinks champagne.. after winning one of his 3 World Series championships.
  • Lol, I have to give credit to you. That was a good one.
  • Curt! My loud-mouthed-sometimes-annoying-as-hell-but-still-an-amazing-pitcher hero!
  • Haha, I don't agree with nearly anything he says but you've got to admit the man is still one hell of a great pitcher. As a Sox fan I appreciate that he put his body on the line to help us win 2 championships.

If not a Baseball HoFer than a Red Sox HoFer for sure.
  • that fat ass, he needs to shut up and retire, cus he isnt a half of famer.
  • Awesome contribution to the conversation there Chuck. Why don't you go back to dropping knowledge on 4 year olds or somebody else that is impressionable enough to care about what you have to say?

Youkilis sent to an eye specialist

After getting hit in the eye with a baseball between innings during last night's game, Kevin Youkilis underwent some tests and they all came back negative for fractures and anything too serious. Unfortunately his eye was still watering and swollen when he got to Fenway today so the team has sent him to an eye specialist to get it checked out. He won't be starting in tonight...

Schilling's Legacy

When Curt Schilling broke from Thanksgiving dinner in 2003 with Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein, I doubt even he knew what the next five years would hold for him. And if the last four seasons in a Red Sox uniform are his last in a baseball uniform, no one can deny that the big fella left a pretty indelible legacy on a city rich with legacy. "I want to be a part of...

Sean Casey drops his suspension appeal

This post is actually from yesterday morning but I forgot to submit it to YB. -- Sean Casey has officially dropped his suspension appeal and will begin serving his 3 games tonight against the Diamondbacks. I'm not entirely sure of the strategy behind this. The Diamondbacks will be starting two lefties in this series. The Astros, who we play next, only have 1 left-handed...

Tonight was supposed to be a night in which we honor our beloved color analyst Jerry Remy, the best analyst in baseball. The Red Sox Bullpen Is Talented In More Ways Than One

More often than not Rain Delays are going to be the most boring things on the face of the Earth. You sit under the upper deck overhang and watch old blooper videos or TWIBs while you wait for the rain to die down. Well the Red Sox have a new video to keep you in the ballpark and NESN decided to air it last night.Sox & Dawgs and Center Field give us Manny Delcarmen and Jonathan...

Schilling out for Season, Career in Jeopardy

Curt Schilling will undergo season-ending and possibly career ending surgery on Monday following a failed rehab attempt. Schilling was quoted as saying, "My season is over and there is a pretty decent chance I have thrown my last pitch forever," on WEEI radio in Boston. This is sad news for baseball fans everywhere as one of the top pitchers of this generation may be done...

Could Ben Sheets come to Boston?

Earlier today starting pitcher Ben Sheets of the Milwaukee Brewers announced that he will officially test the free agency market at the end of this season. Would I like to see Ben Sheets in a Red Sox uniform next year? No question about it. Do I think that Theo Epstein will take a chance on signing him in the offseason? Maybe, but probably not. Despite what people say about...

3 Trades to help the Sox repeat

As July quickly approaches, the hot stove league is going to really heat up. The buyers and sellers will begin to separate themselves and make moves. What does that mean for the hometown 9? Here are some ideas crazy enough, they might just work. (Note: I am literally spit-balling here. These are not rumors I've seen or heard. If you've seen them before, it's a coincidence...

Annnnd He's Rounding Third, heading for home!!….

It's late in the game. High Drama. The crowd is going crazy, chanting all sorts of things. The runner on second is a tall, lanky outfielder. The big outfielder wearing a number in the teens hears the crack of the bat, and makes his way to third. The third base coach waves him around. The right fielder scoops up the ball and fires a frozen rope from medium-depth right to...
